Olivia Miller

Hi everyone! 

My name is Olivia and I am a rising Junior at Furman. I am majoring in Psychology with a minor in Data Analytics. I am from Columbia, SC and I am so excited for our trip to Greece with such a great group of people! 

I choose to go on this May X for the opportunity of growth and self-development. There is so much more for me to discover about who I am and I believe this May X will help guide me in uncovering my purpose and passions. With the time to slow down and reflect, I have the chance to learn so much more about myself. I cannot wait to immerse myself into a new culture and for the opportunities of growth this trip will provide me. I am most excited to explore and learn about the various cities of Greece along side an amazing group of people! 

Part of our first activity has been to fill a cup with several things which help symbolize meaningful parts of our identities. I have chosen to fill my cup with a picture of family, a seashell, and a bus ticket from Amsterdam. The picture I included with my sister and mom symbolize the importance of my family to me. Family is one of my biggest values, and I cherish all of the time I get to spend with them greatly. Secondly, I have included a seashell, which symbolizes my appreciation for all things outdoors. I have always enjoyed spending time outside, whether that is at the beach with family, hiking out West with one of my best friends, or running on Swamp Rabbit Trail, I absolutely love and value being outside. Lastly, I have included a bus ticket from a trip I got to go on with my dad to Amsterdam. It was my first trip out of the country and I loved every minute of it. It opened my eyes to the culture and lifestyle outside of what I have grown up around. The trip made me realize how important it is to travel and learn about other cultures, and I believe it is part of what inspired me to go on this May X!
