Nick Musson

Hey, my name is Nick Musson, and I am a rising sophomore at Furman. I plan on majoring in computer science and/or business with a minor in data analytics. I am from Marietta, Georgia and can’t wait to get this trip started and get to know everyone.

Coming to Furman I was so nervous that I wouldn’t find my group and would struggle in my classes, but after meeting some great people and working hard, I had an amazing first year at Furman! I grew up playing soccer, but this year I switched to playing club ultimate frisbee and have met some of my best friends.

On this trip I look forward to discovering more about myself and hopefully improving as a person. I want to get out of my comfort zone, delve into the philosophical, and reflect on myself while learning about a beautiful country and its culture.

The first day cup activity: For our first activity we were assigned to bring personal items to help introduce ourselves.

-          For my first item I decided to bring a little cross that I bought during my first time abroad in Austria. I keep the cross on my desk as a reminder of God’s love and warm embrace.

-          For my second item I brought a wristband from a dad and son program that I tried out with my dad and a few of my neighborhood friends. We got together every week for a summer, and I felt that I got closer to my dad during that time.

-          My last item is a circular selenite stone that I bought with my brother and cousins. I’ve always been close to family and this stone reminds me of all the memories we share.

I can’t wait for this trip!
