Hi everyone! My name is Addie Wolfe and I am a rising senior at Furman. I am majoring in health sciences on the pre-nursing track, and plan to attend nursing school after Furman. I am from Harrisburg, NC (a little outside Charlotte) and I am so excited to be apart of this program.
I chose to participate in this years Know Thyself MayX to Greece because I have done programs with the Cothran Center in the past and they never fail to help me learn things about myself and others. It is super important that we continue learning about ourselves to reach our highest potential. We all come from different backgrounds and I know this program will be thought provoking, as well as inspiring, especially in a place like Greece that is so rich in history. It's easy to get caught up in the continuous loop and chaos of life, but I cannot wait to take a step back and be fully present during this MayX. I cannot wait to get to know my peers better during this experience and grow better together. Stick around with us while we explore all of the history and beauty that Greece has to offer!!!
At our previous meeting, we were given an assignment to complete before the first day of class! Everyone was given an empty cup, and the instructions were to (i) put several things in that cup that help to describe our identities, and (ii) bring that cup to class on the first day, and use it to introduce ourselves to one another.
In my cup, I have included these three things…
1. A picture of my family - They mean the most to me and I am so grateful for their constant love and support. They have helped shape me into who I am today!
2. My cross necklace - A daily reminder of God's eternal love - bringing me peace and hope.
3. A shell - Shells represent the beauty and creation all around us - everywhere. Shells are all so unique, just like us! I also love being outdoors and exploring, especially on/near the water.
That's all for now! Next up...Greece!!!
